Allan Chesang Marathon

The Allan Chesang Foundation Marathon Initiative is an annual event aimed at promoting athletics, environmental conservation, and community empowerment in Trans Nzoia County. Organized by the Allan Chesang Foundation, the marathon provides a competitive platform for athletes to showcase their talents while championing sustainability through a large-scale tree-planting campaign.

The event features multiple race categories, including a 21km half marathon, a 10km race, and a 5km family fun run, encouraging participation from professional athletes, upcoming runners, schools, and local communities. As part of its commitment to environmental conservation, the foundation integrates a tree-planting program with the goal of planting 10 million trees over five years, working closely with schools, volunteers, and local stakeholders.

Beyond sports and conservation, the initiative also focuses on economic empowerment by offering cash prizes of up to Ksh 150,000 for top finishers and providing mentorship opportunities for young and upcoming athletes. Through collaboration with government agencies, businesses, and community groups, the foundation envisions transforming the marathon into a nationally recognized event that fosters talent, strengthens environmental sustainability, and uplifts the local community. Together, we run for a greener future!
