Anti-Jiggers Campaign

The Allan Chesang Foundation Anti-Jiggers Campaign is a health and sanitation initiative dedicated to eradicating jigger infestations in vulnerable communities. Jiggers’ infestation is a major health issue affecting many vulnerable individuals, particularly children. It thrives in poor living conditions whereby shelters are made of mud and mostly the people walk barefooted.

The campaign focuses on providing medical treatment, hygiene education, and improved living conditions to affected individuals, particularly children and the elderly. Through community outreach programs, volunteers and healthcare professionals offer free jigger treatment, distribute footwear, and educate families on proper sanitation practices to prevent reinfestation. The initiative also collaborates with local leaders, schools, and health institutions to create long-term solutions, including clean water access and improved housing.

Our Step Forward Initiative focuses on treatment, prevention, and education, ensuring affected individuals receive proper care, footwear, and hygiene support to break the cycle of infestation. There are up to 3000 beneficiaries from this initiative, and we are committed to the scale it further. By addressing both the medical and social aspects of the jigger menace, the campaign aims to restore dignity, improve health outcomes, and empower communities to break free from the cycle of poverty caused by jigger infestations.
