Allan Chesang Foundation Healthcare Program

At The Allan Chesang Foundation, we believe that access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Through our Free Medical Camp, we offer general body check- ups, treatment, early detection and referral, diagnostics, eye and dental care, and health education to underserved communities.

One of our major milestones was in 2023 when we conducted surgeries to over 100 patients during a 4- day medical camp, serving a total of over 7000 participants.

Over the years, we have been steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that quality healthcare reaches every corner of our community across the five sub- counties. Our Free Medical Camps are a testament to this dedication, bringing a wide array of essential health services directly to those who need them most. These camps offer comprehensive medical consultations, vital health screenings, eye and dental care, and the provision of necessary medications at no cost to the beneficiaries.

    • Specific Activities:
      • 2023 Medical Camp (20th–24th February): Held at Kitale County Referral Hospital with iHOPE, this five-day event performed over 100 surgeries (e.g., for cataracts, hernias) and served 7,000+ participants with screenings and treatments.
      • 9th October–1st November 2024: A three-day camp at Bikeke Primary Care Hospital treated 2,100+ patients for respiratory infections, hypertension, dental disorders, and eye problems, distributing free medications.
      • 1st–2nd March 2025: A two-day camp in Kiminini Sub-County (Sabata and Kiminini Market) addressed diverse health issues for 1,000+ people, focusing on market-day accessibility.
      • Impact: Over 1,125 outreaches since 2017 have reached remote areas, linking communities to the healthcare system. Health education has improved preventive behaviors (e.g., immunization uptake rose from 70%), contributing to Universal Health Coverage goals.
      • Challenges Addressed: Geographical and financial barriers, low specialist access, and late-stage disease detection (e.g., advanced HIV, cancers).
      • Long-Term Vision: Expand camps annually, train local health workers with foreign specialists, and establish permanent clinics in underserved wards.
